Which Hawaiian Island is your Favorite Vacation Spot?

Which Hawaiian island is your favorite vacation spot?

After our recent contemplation on the
Kohala Coast weather, we think it’s time to talk about which of the Hawaiian Islands do you like best and why. Obviously, we decided that the Kohala Coast on the Big Island is our favorite. Otherwise we would not write this Big Island vacation blog about it, would we?

However, most of the regular Hawaii travelers have their own special
Hawaiian island they prefer as their tropical getaway. Lots of you love Kauai, the garden island, as it is lush and green, Maui attracts with its surfing beaches and Oahu’s Waikiki Beach Hotels did not lose any of their tourist attraction to Hawaii travelers from around the world, especially from Japan. So, what island is your favorite and why?

We are looking forward to hearing from Hawaii travelers which island they love best for their Hawaii vacation. A hui hou (till next time).

Dear Pua
Firstly I would like to say that I love your site Kohala Coast Web. Not only does it offer a comprehensive guide to the Big Island of Hawaii, but it is enticing to the reader and makes you want to go there.
When it comes to choosing my favourite Hawaiian Island, I would have to say Maui. We have been coming here for the last 20 years and feel like true "Kama'aina" (locals). Having said that, we took a cruise last year around the islands and saw the Big Island and Kauai for the first time. That experience made us aware that each island has its own special charm. We even enjoy the hustle and bustle of Honolulu or "Honazoolu" as our friend calls it, on the island of Oahu. Maui to us, is a wonderful blend of the best of all the islands as well having its own unique flavor, so I will have to maintain that "Maui No Ka Oi" (Maui is the best).

The best snorkeling on the Big Island is in Kapoho tidepools. I love a little house right on the water called Hula Cove in Vacationland and also across the street called Honu Kai- great locations and well kept. We also stayed at Volcano Plantation House in Volcano Village- so beautiful and romantic made us feel like the world had passed us by. Loved the Thai restaurant there also.

Aloha,
On my first visit to Maui, more than 25 years ago, I fell in love with the Magic Isle. The entire island is beautiful, with each location having special features. My favorite location is South Maui because I am a beach person and the soft sand beaches in South Maui are incredible. It is also one of the driest spots on the Hawaiian Islands with an average annual rainfall of 10 inches. This translates to "More Fun In The Sun".
Maui is the best.

Maui takes the cake for me as well. However, I do love the Big Island when it comes to riding motorcycles!

Hawaii is no longer just for honeymooners. The islands are fast becoming a paradise for keiki, the Hawaiian word for children. Maui is for adventurers -- surfing, zip-lining, snorkeling with sea turtles, or watching the sun rise atop Haleakala are a few of the major draws.Part theme park, part art museum, this sprawling resort is set on 40 acres of lushly landscaped property, dotted with pools, splashy fountains, and an extensive collection of modern art by masters like Picasso, Warhol, and Botero. The island which is my golden memories.

OK East Coast Vacations, I totally agree with you: one can easily fall in love with Maui and make this Hawaiian Island your favorite for Hawaii vacation.

In addition to some of the most beautiful white sand beaches located in Kihei on the sunny west coast of the island, the Maui offers quite a number of adventures for those who want to have some more fun in Hawaii.

Aloha Bantau,
What a nice thing to celebrate your 26 years of marriage with a Hawaii vacation and also take the 'kids' with you! It's so much to say about best time to visit Hawaii and which Hawaiian Island is the best to visit when you visit Hawaii for the first time. I had actually answered these questions on 'Yahoo answers in the past. Yahoo even voted my answer to 'Best time to visit Hawaii' the best answer. You might want to visit those post right here on our 'Best Hawaii Bacation blog'

Best Time to visit Hawaii
and
Which one is your favorite Hawaiian Island?

Last but not least, if you don't like big crowds, really avoid our Hawaii high seasons in winter and during July and August during school vacation.

We ourselves love the Kohala Coast on the Big Island for tons of reason - see blog posts - and South Kihei on Maui. Both Hawaii vacation spots are blessed with sunshine all year round, lots of white sand beaches and allow for tons of activities.

Wishing you to make the right choice for your Hawaii vacation. Aloha, Pua
